How to Get the Ring

Another way to get around, this time with extra chaos.

If you’re ever trying to just ~zone out~ and nuke some bosses while listening to a podcast or watching some YouTube (no? Just me?), then running old content may be on the itinerary. Not only is it a good way to make a solid chunk of gold, but you can also unlock new Transmogrification appearances in the meantime. And, of course, there’s always the small chance for that lucky mount drop. How about a tool that makes the grind a lot easier and even more unpredictable?

The Ring-Bound Hourglass is a crafted ring, so it can be created by Jewelcrafters or commissioned through the Crafter’s Consortium with modifications to your liking, like custom secondary stats and an increased item level depending on the materials you use (more on that in the linked guide below). But it also has a special function: once per 20 hours, it can teleport you to the entrance of a random raid from a past expansion.

I often spend some time scratching my head and looking through my appearance collection trying to decide what old raid I want to run to and clear, so taking out the burden of choice and just going for it is a great change of pace. Of course, you won’t be able to solo clear say, Sepulcher of the First Ones, but it seems more likely than not that you’ll be transported to something a bit friendlier.

If you’re worried about wasting a ring slot, don’t be. Not only can you equip two crafted rings at once, but you can also just take it off and leave it in your bag as a free teleport, albeit to a random location. If you’re looking for another way to make some quick gold in WoW, I’ve got you covered there too.
