Our Dream Baby Shower: Moon
Our final gathering just the two of us before baby girl’s arrival! My sweet girlfriends hosted our dream baby shower. We wanted it to be a moon-themed baby shower and we are over the moon with how it turned out. Friends came from all over to shower us with love. At 36 weeks pregnant, I feel so grateful to be surrounded by almost all of our favorite people. Baby girl will grow up with a village full of people who love her, will encourage her and have her best interests at heart!
Since finding out we were having a girl, I knew I wanted a moon-themed baby shower. I didn’t want it to look too too childish, but a little more elevated and elegant. I was particular about the shape of the moon, wanting it to be more of a crescent and not soo round or full. This echoed throughout the shower from the backdrop to the drink stirrers and onto the cake. The venue for our shower was actually where we originally wanted to host our rehearsal dinner, but it was out of budget for us then.
To give the greenhouse a more whimsical feel, Balloonish created clouds for us of different-sized balloons. These were hung above the tables and gave us that “something hanging” Johnny always wanted for our wedding!
We also had the prettiest balloon install next to our two backdrops. I love how Balloonish used different sizes and colors to make it all come together! Balloons always give that whimsy feel and can really add that pop to a space. Balloon installations are always my favorite way to transform a space.
I couldn’t imagine an event without florals. Something Pretty Floral always creates the most beautiful arragements. We went with bigger arrangements to make a statement. Peonies, ranuncuus, white roses and baby’s breath combined make a soft, feminine look.
We did a seated brunch with yummy foods from pork chops to egg-white frittatas. Since our baby shower was during lunch-time we wanted to make sure our guests had plenty to eat!
We feel so grateful to my girlfriends for hosting the most beautiful shower. They truly thought of everything from the delicious cake, cookies and piece of decor. It felt incredible to be surrounded by all of our family and closest friends, especially since it was the week of my birthday, too!
